As Singapore entered Phase 3 of its re-opening in December last year, the country obtained the first batch of Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine. Vaccination is taking place progressively with priority given to some groups of people including healthcare and frontline workers.

In the main story of this issue, we speak to LKCMedicine population health and infectious disease experts on why vaccination is important in the pandemic.

Dr Serene Ng, the School's Chief Operating Officer also pens her thoughts on Singapore's re-opening of Phase 3 and the measures taken by LKCMedicine to ensure the safety of the School's community.

We also hear from our Postgraduate Year 1 doctors who share their experience working in the hospitals in the midst of a pandemic.
