Career Prospects for Bioengineers

The biomedical engineering sector has seen strong growth over the past few years, and is slated to be a key engine of future growth in Singapore's economy.

Bioengineering graduates are equally well versed in engineering processes and the biomedical sciences, which positions them well for finding attractive opportunities in industry, research institutes, hospitals, and many different types of organisations dealing with biomedical instrumentation, medical devices, biomaterials, and drug discovery.

Our graduates have found jobs in companies such as Agilent Technologies, GE Medical, Siemens Medical Instruments, Attogenix Biosystems, and WelchAllyn International; research institutions such as Institute of Bioengineering and Nanotechnology, Institute of Molecular and Cellular Biology, Bioinformatics Institute; and hospitals such as Singapore General Hospital, National University Hospital. Some of our graduates have also gone on to further studies in medical schools or top Ph.D. programmes around the world.
