How To Apply For An MBA Scholarship?

Applicants will be asked if a scholarship is required when filling in the online application form to the programme. If a scholarship is required, tick on the relevant scholarship(s) and complete an additional essay for the scholarship committee to review with the application documents.

As part of Nanyang Business School’s commitment to recognise the increased representation of women in the business community, this partial scholarship is awarded to talented and motivated women who have demonstrated potential to make significant contributions both during and after the MBA programme.

The Nanyang Sustainability Leader Scholarship aims to empower the next generation of MBA graduates with the knowledge, skills, and resources to lead organizations towards a more sustainable and socially responsible future.

At Nanyang Business School, we believe in nurturing leaders who are not only well-versed in traditional business practices but are also committed to making a lasting impact on the world through sustainable initiatives. This partial Scholarship is awarded to exceptional MBA candidates who demonstrate a profound dedication to sustainability in their academic and professional pursuits.

As Singapore continues the drive towards productivity improvements, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) play an important role in raising performance productivity. Nanyang Business School wants to support SME leaders build on their business capabilities as they push the envelope to innovate and optimise productivity in a challenging landscape. Applicant(s) for this partial scholarship must be employed by an organisation defined as a SME in Singapore.

Singapore’s Government-Linked Companies (GLC) continue to be key drivers of the economy and this partial scholarship aims to support GLC’s leadership talents looking to enhance their business acumen in their increasingly complex and strategic roles. Applicant(s) for the scholarship are required to be employed by GLC at the point of application.

This partial scholarship is for individuals with exposure to a blue-chip company and aspires to continue building their career in companies with an institutional status in the global or local economy. Other than having the right aptitude and believing in their competencies as future business leaders, applicants must also be willing to play a key role in working towards a sustainable world.

The scholarship is awarded to committed and dynamic individuals who are committed to return to their home country, often a developing nation, as future leaders. The partial scholarship aims to provide relief for those at a financial disadvantage and an added boost for them to achieve success in business.

This partial scholarship is for EU citizens who wish to deepen their understanding of doing business in Asia. Other than demonstrating an outstanding career progression and a solid academic background, awarded scholars must be keen to gain an international outlook and aspire to attain a high level of success in business.

This partial scholarship is awarded to individuals who see themselves as eventual business leaders championing trade between Middle East and Asia. Other than having sharp business acumen and solid academic achievements, awarded Middle Eastern scholars shall be committed in deepening bilateral economic ties between the two regions.

Fueled by both commodity and cultural interests between Latin America and Asia, the ties fostered between the two continents have grown significantly. This partial scholarship is designed to groom MBA talent from Latin America, who have strong professional and cultural interest in Singapore and Asia.

The value placed on diversity is paramount for the Nanyang MBA. Candidates who are from a minority nationality or work specialisation can apply for this partial scholarship.

The Nanyang Global Citizen Scholarship is open to all individuals who have lived and/or worked in 2 or more countries - the duration in each country to be greater than a year. This scholarship is introduced to bring highly-mobile and adaptable talent who have rich experience dealing with diversity.

With the expanding Singapore-Africa business links and NTU’s established Centre for African Studies, Nanyang Business School looks to advance business ties by developing deserving talent from Africa. Other than demonstrating a solid academic background, candidates applying to this partial scholarship must display the intent/dedication to expand African businesses’ capacity in Asia and vice versa.

With NTU's steep tradition in technology and innovation, Nanyang Business School is committed to nurture innovators, who at the same time, see themselves as future business leaders. This partial scholarship will support creative talents achieve the prestigious Nanyang MBA, while enhancing their understanding and leadership role in the business arena.

​​Who is eligible?
This scholarship is open to nationals of ASEAN* member countries (except Singapore) to pursue the full-time Nanyang MBA by coursework at NTU, Singapore. 

* ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) consists of Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. 

Eligibility criteria

  • Singaporeans and Singapore Permanent Residents are not eligible to apply
  • Excellent academic record
  • A very good command of English
  • At least 2 years of post-degree work experience
  • A good GMAT/GRE score
  • You should not be on paid employment or accept paid employment or concurrently hold any other scholarship, fellowship, bursary or top-up allowance during the prescribed period of the award 

Bond
There is no bond attached to the scholarship. No deferment of scholarship awarded will be allowed. Awards that are not taken up will be given to other qualified candidates.

Coverage
Each scholarship is tenable for a period of 1 year only for the Nanyang MBA. 

Each scholarship shall cover the following: 

  • Tuition fee of $25,000
  • Monthly stipend amount of S$1,350.00
  • Book allowance (one-time payment)

Application procedure and deadline Application for the scholarship closes on 30 March each year. Application is strictly through the online application form and applicant(s) must complete the scholarship essay requirement to be eligible. 

Only shortlisted candidates will be notified latest by end of June.

This partial scholarship is open to nationals of ASEAN member countries (except Singapore). Singaporeans and Singapore Permanent Residents and recipients of other scholarships or bursaries are not eligible to apply. The scholars are allowed to do an internship, but without payment.

In the highly diverse Nanyang MBA programme, Korean participants bring with them a unique culture and sophistication to each of our year’s MBA cohort. In recognition of their talents and abilities, this scholarship aims to award a competitive Korean candidate each year, who aims to grow and excel in the ASEAN region after the Nanyang MBA.

  • South Korean citizens
  • Excellent academic record
  • Good command of English
  • At least 2 years of post-degree professional work experience
  • Applicable to only GRE test-takers
  • Good GRE score

Established in honour of former Prime Minister Mr Lee Kuan Yew, this scholarship is available for outstanding Singaporeans dedicated to contribute positively to our society. Since its inception in 1991, many holders of this prestigious scholarship have gone on to make significant contributions in various fields such as public service, business, law, medicine, the arts and academia.

This scholarship is offered by the Public Service Commission of Singapore.

This scholarship is sponsored by our very own Nanyang Business School MBA alumni Mr Pravin Raj in honour and memory of his late grandfather Mr K.N. Sellappah. Mr. Sellappah was born in Sri Lanka and worked as a school teacher, before migrating to Malaysia to fulfil his dreams. He survived the ordeals of being kidnapped and forced to work in the construction of the then infamous Thai-Burma Death Railway during World War II. His sheer perseverance was an inspiration, only matched by his ability to lead by example within his community. 

Mr. Sellappah was a firm believer in the importance of education and the power it has to unlock opportunities and transform lives exponentially. This scholarship aims to provide financial aid to candidates from developing countries who demonstrate a commitment to making a positive contribution towards the development of their respective home countries and communities.

Coverage
Successful applicant(s) will receive partial scholarship amounting to 10% of the tuition fee

Application Procedure
Application for the scholarship closes on 30 March each year. Application is strictly through the online application form and applicant(s) must complete the scholarship essay requirement “Explain how you plan to contribute to the development of your home country and community after you have completed your studies” to be eligible.

Post-MBA
3 years after graduation, successful candidates will be required to provide a write-up/article, informing their progress or how they have implemented what they set out to do, including any changes to the original plan. The Nanyang Business School reserves the right to publish the write-up/article on the school web page or other medium.

Who is eligible?
This scholarship is open to nationals of the following APEC member economies to pursue a full-time Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme at NTU: Australia, Brunei Darussalam, Canada, Chile, China, Hong Kong-China, Indonesia, Japan, Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Peru, Philippines, Russia, Singapore, Chinese Taipei, Thailand, United States, and Vietnam.

Eligibility criteria

  • Singaporeans and Singapore Permanent Residents are not eligible to apply
  • A good bachelor’s degree
  • At least two years of full-time management or professional experience
  • Proficiency in the English Language
  • A good GMAT/GRE score
  • You should not be on paid employment or accept paid employment or concurrently hold any other scholarship, fellowship, bursary or top-up allowance during the prescribed period of the award

Bond
There is no bond attached to the scholarship. No deferment of scholarship awarded will be allowed. Awards that are not taken up will be given to other qualified candidates.

Coverage
Each scholarship is tenable for 3 trimesters (≈ 12 months) only

Each scholarship shall cover the following:

  • Full tuition fee
  • Monthly stipend of S$1,350.00
  • Book allowance of S$500.00
  • Tuition fee, health insurance, examination fee and other approved fees, allowances and expenses
  • Cost of one overseas Business Study Mission (for MBA candidates only) undertaken within the tenable period of the scholarship
  • Cost of travel from home country to Singapore on award of the scholarship
  • Cost of travel from Singapore to home country on successful completion of the Master’s degree within the tenable period of the scholarship
