The MSc in Actuarial and Risk Analytics (MARA) at Nanyang Business School, NTU distinguishes itself as the only business school in Singapore offering accredited actuarial science programmes. No, MARA does not offer any exemptions currently for professional certifications by IFoA or SOA.
The one-year MARA programme is conducted on a full-time basis over three trimesters, starting in August and concluding in May the following year, or in December if the optional internship is taken.
Academic qualifications are not the only criteria. NTU considers talented students from any educational background with a bachelor’s degree in any discipline. Other criteria may include work experience, leadership quality and potential in the finance, insurance, risk management industry.

Under rolling admissions, applications are reviewed as they are received, rather than after a fixed deadline. This means that the earlier you apply, the sooner your application will be reviewed and you may receive an admission decision. Early application improves your chances of being shortlisted sooner and increases the likelihood of securing a place in the programme and being considered for scholarships.
We welcome applications from undergraduates with a good bachelor’s degree and early-career professionals who are passionate about actuarial science or risk analytics. If you're curious, motivated, and eager to make a positive impact on global challenges like climate risk, this programme could be a great fit for you. While you don’t need prior experience in actuarial or risk-related fields, having a background in statistics or mathematics—whether through your studies or work experience—will help you get the most out of the MARA programme.
Yes, this programme is open to international students. The university will assist you in obtaining your student visas when you have confirmed acceptance to the programme.
GRE or GMAT score is not a compulsory admission requirement for the MSc Actuarial and Risk Analytics programme. However, if you have taken the GRE/GMAT exam, it can be used to strengthen your application.
*GMAT/ GRE score has a validity period of five years.
IELTS or TOEFL is required if the medium of instruction during your undergraduate studies was not exclusively in English.
An acceptable score for TOEFL is 100 (internet based). For IELTS, the acceptable score is 6.5 and above.

Each applicant will only be awarded one scholarship.
New students may apply to the University for on-campus accommodation. If the application is successful, they will be granted accommodation for up to one academic year*. Students are to bear the cost of the room rental. Please refer here for more information.

Yes, you may request for a deferment. However, you must accept the course offer and make the enrolment deposit before request for a deferment can be made.
