In this beginner-friendly AI for business course, the “intelligence” behind AI, the tools available, as well as the latest trends and applications, including AI/analytical methods like regressions, decision trees and unsupervised techniques (e.g. clustering) will be discussed. You will also gain an overview of how unstructured data like text and Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI (e.g. ChatGPT) are used in finance, as well as the use of Agentic AI to streamline finance processes.

Dr. Eric Tham
Senior Lecturer, Nanyang Business School, NTU Singapore
Eric Tham is a Senior Lecturer from the Division of Finance at Nanyang Business School, NTU Singapore.
Prior to academia, Dr Tham worked in the financial services industry for 17 years in risk, quantitative analysis and energy economics with Credit Suisse, Standard Chartered Bank as well as in a major oil MNC and a Fintech start up in China. He is also Executive Director, Data Science in the Fintech Association of Singapore.
He holds a MSc Financial Engineering from Columbia University, MSc Business Analytics from National University of Singapore and a PhD from EDHEC Business School in France.
His research interests are in AI and Machine Learning in Finance, Carbon Finance and Behavioural Finance. He teaches Financial Management, Financial Modelling, and Derivatives and Structured Products.
