To help organisations understand and structure winning deals, our interactive Mergers and Acquisitions Programme at Nanyang Business School, Singapore aims to provide participants a practical, end-to-end understanding of the whole merger and acquisition (M&A) value chain.
Through a series of local and international case studies and small group discussions, you will explore the reasons and motivations for M&A. You will also examine the various strategic considerations including business plans, valuation, deal structuring, financing, negotiation and implementation issues associated with M&A. Post-merger integration and cross-border acquisitions will also be discussed.

At the end of the programme, you will gain an understanding of:
- The role of M&A as a legitimate activity in any entity’s corporate strategy and growth policy.
- The processes involved in M&A, including target identification, due diligence, negotiation and implementation.
- Common tools and techniques in valuation including estimation of synergies and determination of premium.
- Deal structuring, financing options, including method of payments.
- Specific issues in corporate restructuring, private equity and leverage buyouts, cross-border acquisitions and post-merger integration.
The four-day programme will be staggered over two weeks (two days per week) to minimise disruption from work and to allow more time for pre-reading and case analysis.
Pre-course reading materials will be provided to help you get up to speed so you can participate actively and benefit more from the programme.

Participants do not need to contact SkillsFuture to apply for funding prior to course registration. NTU will facilitate the funding paperwork for both self and company-sponsored participants. Participants will be invoiced the net amount after funding and GST.
- Participant must achieve at least 75% attendance for the programme.
- Participant must complete all group discussions and presentations as assigned by the trainer – this will replace written assessment.

Dr. Ho Kim Wai is a qualified Chartered Accountant in England and Wales. He later obtained both his Masters and PhD degrees in finance. Prior to joining NTU, Dr. Ho had extensive experience in Big Four international accounting firms in London and Singapore and was the Group Financial Controller and Company Secretary of a publicly listed multinational corporation in the manufacturing industry for several years.
At NTU, Dr. Ho had served as the Associate Dean (Research), the founding Director of the MSc (Financial Engineering) Programme and the Director of the MBA (Banking and Finance) programme. He is currently an Adjunct Associate Professor and serves as the Academic Director of the Nanyang Executive MBA programme.
