Uncover the Unexpected: SoH Undergraduate Preview 2025

On 17 May 2025, we welcomed more than 130 prospective students and their guests for an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the freshman experience at the NTU School of Humanities.

Aptly titled the NTU Humanities Undergraduate Preview, this pre-admissions event offered attendees an overview of the undergraduate academic journey at SoH. Through engaging conversations with faculty from their chosen disciplines and alumni who shared their student experiences and career paths, students gained valuable insights into life at NTU.

The event began with a Scholars Dialogue, where panellists Professor Joseph Liow (Dean, CoHASS), Professor Neil Murphy (Acting Chair, SoH), A/P Teru Miyake (Associate Chair of Academics at SoH), and Assistant Professor Luke Lu (Assistant Chair of Academics at SoH) discussed the value of pursuing the humanities, and their observations on the evolving role of humanities in today's world.

At the Know Your Major Session, students and guests connected with faculty members and alumni to ask more in-depth questions about the academic programme, such as intellectual rigour, workload, and career opportunities after graduation.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all staff, alumni, student helpers, and attendees who made the NTU Humanities Undergraduate Preview 2025 a success.

See you in August when the semester begins!
