News | Koh Poh Koon: mastering Mandarin could strengthen one’s role in the financial sector

Speaking at the 16th Singapore Hokkien Huay Kuan Literary Awards Prize Presentation Ceremony, Senior Minister of State for Trade and Industry Koh Poh Koon emphasised the importance of Mandarin in the global financial sector. This year, the "Lianhe Zaobao Gold Award" goes to 21-year-old NTU Chinese Studies student, Chen Kaiyu (transliteration). The third-year university student from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, was also the second prize winner in the modern poetry category. The first prize winner of the category is Zhang Yuqian (transliteration) from NTU.
