Diplomatic breakthroughs in the Korean peninsular and north-east Asia have garnered worldwide attention. This year’s “Tan Lark Sye Professorship in Chinese Language and Culture” Public Lectures will see East Asia research scholar Benjamin Elman give a talk in Mandarin on the relations among China, Japan and South Korea in the period from 1590 to 1890. The lecture series is organised by Lianhe Zaobao, NTU Centre for Chinese Language and Culture (CCLC) and the Association Of Nanyang University Graduates. It will be chaired by Assoc Prof Yow Cheun Hoe, CCLC Director, head of Chinese at NTU, and Chinese Heritage Centre Director.
