Asst Prof Luke Lu Wins NTU Responsible Conduct of Research Champion Award 2026

Asst Prof Luke Lu is recognised for his sustained contributions to responsible research conduct through his leadership in research ethics and education. As a member of the NTU Institutional Review Board, he has actively contributed to the ethics review of research applications across NTU, supporting researchers and promoting ethical and responsible research practices throughout the University. His commitment to rigorous and responsible research is also reflected in his own scholarship, where his ethnographic study of Singlish pedagogy in secondary-school classrooms has been recognised externally as an example of ethnographic rigour in qualitative TESOL research. Beyond conducting research, he has advanced ethical scholarship by examining and publishing on the ethical considerations arising from ethnographic research, making these discussions accessible to scholars, practising educators, and teachers in training. Through his contributions to ethics review, his commitment to ethical and rigorous qualitative research, his scholarship on research ethics, and his efforts to educate the broader research community, Asst Prof Luke Lu has helped strengthen research integrity and foster a culture in which ethical reflection is an integral part of meaningful and impactful research. His consistent and often behind-the-scenes contributions continue to support researchers and promote responsible research practices both within NTU and beyond.
Congratulations, Prof Lu!
