| Event write-up | Is there a “correct” way to read short-stories? How do we “understand” the implicit meanings behind a short-story? Which are the Modern Chinese Literature works that are worth a read or re-read? The Centre of Chinese Language and Culture (CCLC) and the Chinese Program in Nanyang Technological University are collaborating on a half-day “workshop”, instructed by Associate Professor Wu Deli, who will guide us through the “way” to read Modern Chinese short-stories. Under Professor Wu’s guidance, the participants will be able to learn and appreciate the literary aesthetics of Lu Xun (鲁迅), Shen Cong Wen (沈从文), Zhang Ailing (张爱玲) and Wang Zeng Qi (汪曾祺). Furthermore, participants will have the chance to seek Professor Wu’s guidance with regards to literary queries. |
