The commonly used slang “add oil” is being added to the Oxford dictionary. Dr Helena Gao, NTU senior lecturer at the School of Humanities expressed that this addition is appropriate. She shared that this phrase was commonly used in Hong Kong, and eventually made its way into the English language.
