At the Eminent Speakers Series 2018 organised by Lianhe Zaobao and Business China, Chinese author and winner of the Franz Kafka Prize Yan Lianke spoke about dilemmas in China’s contemporary writing. These included writing about an absurd reality, as well as self-censorship. The talk was hosted by Assoc Prof Yow Cheun Hoe, head of NTU’s Chinese Division.
