English MA student Diana Rahim won first prize in heritage-themed writing competition
Congratulations to our English MA student Diana Rahim, who has won the first prize in "Utterly Changed. The Substation Writing Competition," with heritage and change as its theme.
Her essay "Losing Farther, Losing Faster" edged ahead of over 60 entries to win the top prize of $3000. Of Diana's essay, the jurors' report says: "It is a thoughtful, cogent, and deeply felt essay that engages with the themes of change, nostalgia and heritage in a complex, mature and beguiling way."
Diana will receive the award along with other winners at "The Cities Change. Winners' Showcase" held at the Substation SAD Bar on the 23rd March, 2pm to 4pm. Please visit the Substation Facebook page for more details if you wish to attend.
