AI Mastery: Designing and Orchestrating AI-Enabled Workflows
Participants will build fluency in applying AI tools by developing chatbots, simple applications, and structured workflows, before progressing to redesigning business processes and embedding AI into operational contexts. The course emphasises how AI can be integrated into day-to-day work to enhance efficiency, improve decision-making, and support scalable process improvements.
Through a hands-on, project-based learning approach, participants will work on real or curated workplace challenges, enabling immediate application of concepts learnt. The course also incorporates key principles of responsible AI, including risk awareness, governance, and human-in-the-loop design, ensuring solutions are implemented in a safe, ethical, and sustainable manner.
By the end of the course, participants will be equipped to move from experimentation with AI tools to designing and implementing AI-enabled workflows that deliver tangible organisational impact.

Previously, as Regional Vice President of Digital & Sustainability Solutions (APAC) at Johnson Controls, he led the growth of its digital, sustainability and AI portfolio from US$5 million to US$50 million in 2.5 years, demonstrating strong capability in AI-enabled value creation. At NTU PACE and NTU Nanyang Business School, he teaches AI for Business, Digital Transformation, and Industrial IoT, and leads programmes in transformational leadership and business consulting, giving him direct exposure to AI adoption in enterprises. He is an NTU engineering graduate and a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) and is frequently invited to speak on AI and digital transformation. Alvin’s background makes him well-placed to guide organisations on practical, business-oriented AI deployment. |
![]() | Ian Tan Ian Yong Hoe Tan is a university lecturer, Generative AI coach, and communications consultant with 24 years of experience across the media, consumer technology, and gaming industries. He is a full-time lecturer at NTU Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information, where he teaches marketing, advertising, public relations, and journalism, and also trains executives in leadership communication at the Nanyang Business School. As a Generative AI coach, Ian has conducted programmes for many organisations such as DBS, Singapore Airlines, MINDEF, OCBC, SingHealth, Canon, IHH Healthcare, PSA, Sembcorp, Belkin, and the Singapore School of the Arts. He also leads The Straits Times Generative AI Masterclasses and trains creative teams in blending AI with traditional design. Ian previously worked in journalism at Singapore Press Holdings and later held senior leadership roles at Microsoft, Razer, and Lenovo — leading regional and global teams and contributing to Razer’s US$4 billion IPO.
