More than homely delights at PBnJ

On 2 March, some 150 LKCMedicine students, staff, faculty and their families gathered for the annual Peanut Butter and Jam (PBnJ) evening in the Clinical Sciences Building’s Multi-Purpose Hall.

With the theme of this year’s PBnJ being “Home”, the hall was decorated to emulate the comforts of home. Bean bags, pillows and sofas created a cozy atmosphere while twinkling fairy lights gave it a festive feel.

The event boasted a line-up of spectacular performances by students and staff alike, beginning with a melodious acapella by MedLee. Breathtaking songs by Shaf and Jin, and lively Broadway numbers by Duvet Duet set the mood, while Bang and Andrew put on an educational beatboxing session about abnormal heart sounds.

The evening also featured a number of splendid dance acts that brought together students from across the years, with performances from ADR, Tiao Wu, OM BD TDS and Vincent.

Unique to this year’s PBnJ was a harp recital by Year 1 student Gwyneth Lim who plucked the euphonic melody of Moldau by Smetana. LKCMedicine faculty members also captivated the audience with their songs and a skit about anaesthesia in the operating theatre (OT).

Of course, no event is truly complete without food and drink. In light of the long night, the LKCMedSoc Arts & Culture Committee prepared an array of snacks such as chips, candy floss and popcorn, in addition to the delicious buffet dinner. It was a night of fun and bonding for the LKCMedicine family and served well as a showcase of the School’s talents beyond academic achievements.
