Celebrating the Class of 2018

Laughter, shrieks of joy and plenty of chatter filled the Clinical Sciences Building’s Multipurpose Hall tonight as LKCMedicine came together as one to celebrate the Class of 2018.

After five gruelling years, the inaugural cohort let their hair down, gamely posing for many photos, before sitting down to an informal dinner that brought the whole School together.

The event was hosted by LKCMedicine Dean Professor James Best, who kicked off the programme by congratulating the students on completing the MBBS programme. Looking to their future, he added, “You may well have 50 years ahead of you, so there is no rush into anything, relax, enjoy.” Words the students certainly took to heart this evening.

Prof Best also announced the formation of the School’s alumni association, which will be led by Leon Tan as inaugural president.
During the course of the evening, the guests were entertained by good words, good songs and good art. It was also an opportunity for the graduands to catch up with former teachers, peers and School leaders.

Among all the revelry, many students moved between tables to collect autographs for their Yearbook, which they had just received. Titled First Class, the yearbook was edited by Class of 2018 student Yap Hong Wan. There were also plenty more opportunities to capture lasting and candid mementos.
