EEE Emergency Assistance Scheme
EEE45 Student Support Campaign
Supporting students through unexpected crises
As part of the EEE45 Student Support Campaign, the EEE Emergency Assistance Scheme provides timely, short-term financial relief to EEE students facing sudden and unforeseen hardship.
An unexpected family crisis, loss of income or urgent living expense can place considerable pressure on a student. The fund serves as an immediate safety net, helping students meet essential needs and continue their studies while they work towards a longer-term solution.
Purpose of the Scheme
The EEE Emergency Assistance Scheme is intended for students experiencing an urgent financial crisis rather than ongoing financial disadvantage.
It is different from the Brian Lee Bursary, which provides needs-based support to eligible undergraduate students for an academic year.
What the Assistance May Cover
Support may be provided for essential expenses arising from unforeseen circumstances, including:
- Meals and daily necessities
- Local transportation
- Hostel, rental or utility expenses
- Sudden loss of family income
- Serious family illness or bereavement
- Unexpected caregiving responsibilities
- Other exceptional circumstances resulting in immediate financial hardship
Amount and Duration of Support
Eligible students may receive between S$300 and S$500 per month, for up to three months, subject to assessment.
The maximum assistance available is S$1,500 per student.
Eligibility
The scheme is open to full-time undergraduate and postgraduate students from the NTU School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering who are experiencing genuine and urgent financial hardship.
Priority may be given to students receiving assistance under the University’s Financial Aid Scheme.
Students may be referred through their academic mentor, the EEE Students Office or the relevant University financial aid office. Each case will be assessed based on the student’s circumstances, the urgency of the need and the availability of funds.
Providing Help When It Matters Most
Through the EEE Emergency Assistance Scheme, the EEE community can respond quickly and compassionately when students encounter unexpected difficulties.
Every contribution helps ensure that a temporary crisis does not prevent a student from continuing his or her education.
