Zhang Yuxin

MSc. (Power Engineering) 2025

"Studying Electronics at the MSc level in EEE has been an invaluable chapter of personal and professional transformation, and receiving this award is a meaningful recognition of the efforts and contributions I have made during my studies. From my first semester, I served as a committee member of the Lifelong Learning Club (LLC) @ EEE, helping to organise academic and cultural activities such as ice-breaking sessions, Chinese New Year celebrations, mutual help seminars and industry events.

Working closely with my peers to bring these activities to life was an invaluable experience that strengthened my leadership, teamwork, and organisational skills, while also creating opportunities for MSc students to adapt quickly and connect with one another. Beyond LLC, I also volunteered with TEDxNTU 2024, supporting logistics and operations, which further honed my ability to perform under pressure. Altogether, these experiences enriched my MSc journey, boosted my confidence, and inspired me to keep striving for excellence."

Shwe Yee Thoon Phyoe

MSc. (Electronics) 2025

"My MSc journey in Electronics at EEE has been both rewarding and transformative, and receiving the MSc Excellence Award is a meaningful milestone that I will always treasure. Beyond the academic challenges, my experience was enriched through my involvement in the Lifelong Learning Club (LLC) @ EEE, where I had the privilege of supporting my peers and contributing to a vibrant student community. Balancing rigorous coursework with active participation in student activities was not always easy, but it nurtured my resilience, adaptability and sense of purpose. These experiences shaped me not only as a student but also as a person, allowing me to grow in confidence and develop skills that extend far beyond the classroom.

I am deeply grateful for the friendships, opportunities, and values gained throughout this journey, and I see this award as a reflection of both individual effort and collective support from the EEE community. As I step forward into the next chapter of my career, this recognition inspires me to continue striving for excellence, to make meaningful contributions, and to carry forward the spirit of dedication and service that has defined my MSc experience."

MSc. (Signal Processing and Machine Learning) 2025

"My MSc journey in Signal Processing and Machine Learning (SPML) at EEE has been a deeply enriching and life-changing experience, and receiving this award is a deeply meaningful recognition of my efforts in both academics and community building. Prior to joining NTU as a full-time MSc student, I studied at Wuhan University and first came here through an exchange programme in early 2024.

At NTU, I served as Vice President of the Lifelong Learning Club (LLC), where I co-organised more than 15 events and launched recurring initiatives such as the Mutual Helping Seminars and English Corners, which provided valuable platforms for academic support and cultural exchange. Alongside this, I maintained strong academic performance with a GPA of 4.94 and was honoured to serve as the student speaker at the MSc Graduation Dinner. This award affirms my belief that technical excellence and community empathy go hand in hand, and it inspires me to continue building bridges between skills, people, and impact in my future journey."

Li Tianyu

MSc. (Communications Engineering) 2025

"My MSc journey in Communications Engineering at EEE was both rewarding and formative, and receiving this award is a meaningful recognition of my academic dedication and personal efforts. I am a recent graduate (Class of 2025) and an incoming PhD student at EEE. While I did not hold leadership roles in student clubs, I committed myself to mastering coursework, completing high-quality projects, and building strong rapport with professors, which laid the foundation for my PhD transition. I carefully selected modules in communications, AI, and signal processing, and prepared thoroughly for each lecture, which helped me maintain top academic performance.

One of my proudest milestones was securing a fully funded PhD offer, achieved through focused research and dissertation work. This award affirms my efforts, strengthens my confidence, and motivates me to continue striving for excellence in both research and future academic pursuits."

Wang Huizhong

MSc. (Power Engineering) 2025

"My MSc journey in Power Engineering at EEE was both enriching and meaningful, and receiving this award is a source of encouragement as I continue my academic path into a PhD. I first came to NTU as an exchange student, later returned for my MSc, and am now excited to stay on for doctoral studies. While I was not part of formal clubs, I actively contributed to the MSc community by saying ‘yes’ to as many activities as I could - whether helping behind the scenes or performing on stage - small contributions that made my time here truly memorable.

Academically, I focused on excelling in coursework and dedicating myself to my dissertation, where I gained valuable hands-on experience in model simulation, PCB soldering, and hardware testing. This award affirms the effort I put into both studies and campus life, and motivates me to stay connected, contribute, and grow further with the NTU EEE community."

MSc in Communications Engineering 2024

Ph.D. Candidate, School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering (EEE)

“During my years of study at NTU, I have grown and enriched myself greatly. Academically, I was guided by kind and professional lecturers who opened new doors for me. Personally, I learned to manage my own affairs independently. Philosophically, I gained a new understanding of what it means to be an engineer—an engineer must first engineer themselves, becoming the best system they can be. EEE provided me with an excellent platform, where various academic lectures and laboratory visits broadened my horizons and enriched my life. In my future studies and career, I will continue to apply the knowledge and skills I gained at NTU.”
