Building Bridges in Civil Engineering Education: UTHM Visits NTU-CEE

Delegates from the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Built Environment (FKAAB), Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM), visited the NTU School of Civil and Environmental Engineering for a benchmarking exchange.
Led by Professor Ir. Dr. Mohd Haziman Bin Wan Ibrahim (Dean), with Professor Madya Ir. Dr. Mohd Shalahuddin Bin Adnan (Deputy Dean, Academic & Internationalisation), Ts. Dr. Syed Burhanuddin Hilmi Bin Syed Mohamad (Head of Department, Civil Engineering) and Professor Madya Ir. Ts. Dr. Alvin John Lim Meng Siang (Programme Accreditation Coordinator), the delegation was warmly received by Professor Chu Jian (Chair of the School), Associate Professor Yang En-Hua (Associate Chair, Academic), Associate Professor Chong Tzyy Haur (Assistant Chair, Academic), and Dr. Augustine Chui (Senior Assistant Director, Administration).

The visit featured insightful discussions on innovative teaching approaches, curriculum development, and programme accreditation, followed by tours of our state-of-the-art facilities in Construction Technology and Protective Engineering (CTPE) Laboratory, and Geotechnics, Transport and Geospatial Engineering (GTG) Laboratory.

The exchange provided valuable perspectives and strengthened educational ties between UTHM-FKAAB and NTU-CEE, setting the stage for greater academic and research collaborations in the future.
