NTU Singapore Students' Union leads new initiatives to give career head start for fresh graduates

The Nanyang Technological University, Singapore's Students Union (NTUSU) today launched two new initiatives to give fresh graduates a head start in their careers.

The First Step offers a forum for Singapore undergraduates to engage in conversation with employers on hiring and job prospects

NTUSU will also seal a partnership with Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF) that seeks to provide undergraduates and fresh graduates from NTU with more opportunities in the areas of leadership training, mentorships and jobs matching.

Mr Edward Lim, NTUSU President said, "One of the biggest concerns of undergraduates is how employers are responding to the needs of the future workforce. To help our peers and students get the best shot for their future, NTUSU brought together employers, educators, and students from local universities, to work together towards a holistic and innovative approach in the hiring of fresh graduates - with a focus on criteria beyond academic results. We are heartened that The First Step’s first conference has received strong support from leading employers and students. We hope that the conference and NTUSU’s new partnership with SMF will benefit students and employers to build new connections and contribute to a stronger workforce.”
