Organised by:

Synopsis

Have you ever wondered what happens when you dial 999/995 for help and how the police or SCDF comes to your rescue? How do we keep the SMRT trains safe for all of us to use everyday? How do people use technology during times of stress or crisis?

This presentation is an introduction of Motorola Solutions and its current technology portfolio, and target markets. Many people remember the old Motorola as the cellphone company that started the cellular industry. What many people don't know is that Motorola started off as a two-way radio ("walkie-talkie") company, and remains the market leader today in mission-critical communications. Motorola Solutions today has been in Singapore for more than 48 years, serving government & industries. We will explore the new Motorola and how the new strategic direction is helping government & industries to manage the present during moments that matter today, and in the future for those moments that will matter.

This event is targeted for NTU academia who may have research projects that may be of interest in certain markets and applications, to NTU students who wish to understand industrial uses of communications, for NTU audiences that wish to learn how Motorola Solutions directly contributes to the economy of Singapore and to the well-being of all Singaporeans & residents. While Motorola Solutions is a technology company, we also have needs in many other academic areas outside of technology, such as design, marketing, communications, psychology, and economics.
