The Bachelor of Engineering in Materials Engineering with a Second Major in Sustainability equips students to tackle the world’s most urgent challenges — climate change, resource scarcity, and sustainable development. By integrating materials engineering with courses that explore the interconnections between environment, economy, and society, students gain both technical depth and holistic perspective.

This synergy prepares students to apply sustainability principles in developing engineering solutions and technological innovations — from eco-friendly materials and renewable energy systems to circular economy models and sustainable manufacturing practices.

The structure of the Bachelor of Engineering with a Second Major in Data Analytics (DA) integrates the requirements of both majors, with between 6 - 12AU of double-counting, within the typical candidature of 4 years. The second major in DA constitutes a total of 30 - 38AU, including 21 - 26AU of Compulsory Courses covering 7 key knowledge areas, as well as 9 - 12AU of data-related electives.

The curriculum comprises courses from the Materials Engineering programme and courses covering key areas of the Second Major in Data Analytics – Probability and Statistics, Linear Algebra, Data Analysis, Algorithms, Databases, Data Mining, and Data Visualisation. Students will also take three electives from a selected list of courses.
