Remarks

LKCMedicine participated in the Inter-Medical School Physiology Quiz since AY2013-14, making it into the Top 15 (out of the 69 universities that participated) in AY2023-24.

 

The Inter-Medical School Physiology Quiz is an annual international physiology competition for medical (and health sciences) students. Key aims are:

  • To test and deepen students’ understanding of core physiology concepts.
  • To encourage interaction across medical schools and countries; promote collaboration, friendly competition, and exposure to different teaching styles.
To help identify common misconceptions / gaps in physiology understanding (through item analyses of past exams) that educators can use to refine teaching.

Remarks

A call was sent to Year 5 members of the Emergency Medicine Student Interest Group.

Students participating in the competition to have a strong interest in the field of emergency medicine, and would like to have their knowledge and skills tested in the simulated setting provided by SIMWars, while competing against their peers from other local medical schools.

SIMPIC is an annual competition on Medical Microbiology, Parasitology, and Immunology held in Bangkok that allows medical students to push their academic limits and compete against students from other medical schools on an international stage.

Remarks

A call was sent to the Public Health/Preventive Medicine Student Interest Group for members to express interest in participating in the competition.

The GHCC is a side event at the PMAC, an annual international conference focusing on policy-related public health issues of global significance. Youths from around the world come together as multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative solutions for global health issues. There will be a public health seminar, followed by a qualifying round. The qualified teams will then have a chance to enter online workshops to help sharpen their pitching skills.

A call was sent to all LKCMedicine students whereby four teams were selected to represent LKCMedicine to pitch their ideas at the Challenge.

This prestigious event brings together university students from around the world to develop solutions to some of the most pressing challenges in health care. Hosted by the Global Consortium for Innovation and Engineering in Medicine, the competition is open to member-institution multidisciplinary student teams, including medical students, who will have the opportunity to collaborate and shape the future of medicine.

A call was sent to all LKCMedicine students whereby two teams were selected to represent LKCMedicine in the 2025 Indo-Pacific Global Health Case Competition that was held remotely.

This competition provides university students in Australia and the Indo-Pacific region the opportunity to develop a multi-disciplinary, novel, evidence-based solution to the global health problem and present their case response (remotely or in person) to a panel of judges.
