Homecoming 2026: Strengthening Bonds, Celebrating Excellence

An evening of reconnection, reflection, and recognition…
Familiar faces, shared memories and new milestones took centre stage at LKCMedicine Homecoming 2026, as alumni, graduating students, faculty, partners and donors reunited at the School's Novena Campus on Friday, 24 July 2026. The annual gathering offered an opportunity to reconnect, celebrate the School's progress and honour the relationships that continue to shape the LKCMedicine story.
Among the esteemed guests who attended the event were Professor Kenneth Mak, LKCMedicine Governing Board Member; Professor Kumar Ramakrishna, NTU Dean of the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies; Mr Derek Loh, NHG Board Director; Ms Doreen Yeo, NHG Group Chief Allied Health; and Professor James Best, former Dean of LKCMedicine.
Ahead of the formal programme, Ms Chan Lai Fung, Chair of the LKCMedicine Governing Board, spent time at the Heritage Centre engaging award recipients, offering her personal congratulations and words of encouragement.
The programme commenced at the Toh Kian Chui Annex Lecture Theatre with an opening acapella performance by NTU Harmonix, which set a warmly nostalgic yet jubilant tone for the evening.
In her congratulatory message addressing the Class of 2026, Ms Chan commended their resilience and growth over the course of their medical training.
Said Ms Chan: “Congratulations, Class of 2026! You have survived medical school and have come up stronger and ready for the next chapter of your journey as medical doctors. Take a moment to savour this. You have earned it. I wish you every success and fulfilment in the years ahead.”
This was followed by a welcome address from Dean, Professor Joseph Sung, who emphasised LKCMedicine’s commitment to nurturing future-ready doctors and advancing impactful research.
Highlighting the strength of LKCMedicine’s graduates and their readiness for the next stage of training, Prof Sung shared, “About 85% of our graduates have been recruited into residency programmes, which is a very strong figure. Many have been accepted into competitive specialties such as surgery, ophthalmology, orthopaedics, and gastroenterology. These graduates are on their way to becoming specialists and are being trained in major hospitals. This is something we are very proud of!
A key highlight of the evening was the presentation of academic and professional prizes, recognising outstanding achievements across a wide range of disciplines, from internal medicine and paediatrics to psychiatry, ophthalmology, and cardiology. These awards underscored the School’s culture of excellence and the dedication of its students and partners in advancing healthcare.
Following the ceremony, award recipients and presenters gathered on stage for a commemorative group photo with Governing Board Chair Ms Chan Lai Fung, Dean Prof Joseph Sung and Vice Dean (Education) Assoc Prof Faith Chia, marking a memorable moment of achievement and shared celebration.

Guests were then ushered to the CSB Plaza foyer, where the festivities continued with a specially curated light show projected onto the façade of the School’s headquarters building. The display captured the spirit of Homecoming through dynamic visuals and thematic storytelling, offering a striking backdrop for the evening’s celebrations.
Dinner followed, providing further opportunities for the LKCMedicine community to reconnect and forge new connections. Representatives from LKCMedicine Students' Medical Society, MBBS, and postgraduate committees were also present, facilitating meaningful engagement with guests and VIPs.
The evening concluded on a high note with an encore performance by NTU Harmonix, rounding Homecoming 2026 off on a high note of energy and warmth.
As the community gathered once again, Homecoming 2026 reaffirmed the enduring strength of the LKCMedicine family united by shared purpose, proud achievements, and a collective vision for the future of medicine.

“It’s been about nine years since I graduated, and it fills me with immense pride to see how LKCMedicine has grown. When we started, everything was very small. Now, we have alumni and juniors across many different places, and seeing them excel and achieve recognition on their own is incredibly meaningful. It really shows the impact we’ve had. “I didn’t expect so many people to be here! When I heard about the reunion, I knew I had to come. When we first started, it was a much smaller programme, and we were part of the early batches. Now, it has grown into something much bigger and more established. It’s also wonderful to see how alumni are doing so well. Many have built strong careers and made meaningful contributions in the clinical setting, in hospitals, and even beyond.
