Global Young Scientists Summit participants visit LKCMedicine
On January 23, LKCMedicine hosted 23 participants from the 2019 Global Young Scientists Summit (GYSS) programme comprising brilliant young scientists and researchers (PhD students and post-doctorates) under the age of 35 from prestigious universities around the world. LKCMedicine Vice-Dean for Faculty Affairs Professor Michael Ferenczi warmly welcomed the participants and introduced the School’s research strategy and themes.
The participants also met up with Associate Professor of Behavioural Neuroscience Suresh Jesuthasan who presented on ‘Understanding emotions using zebrafish’ followed by National Research Foundation Fellow and Nanyang Assistant Professor Foo Jia Nee who spoke about neurodegenerative diseases within our DNA code. The GYSS participants left the lab intrigued, excitedly chatting about their experience. The visit concluded with a tour of the Clinical Sciences Building led by Senior Assistant Director, Infrastructure, Mr Sunny Ang.
