Associate Professor Kwek, MBBS MMed(Anaes), FAMS, obtained his medical degrees from the National University of Singapore in 1988 and completed his training in Anaesthesiology in 1995. He joined Tan Tock Seng Hospital in 1995 and was sent on a government scholarship to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, USA from 1998-99 for further subspecialty training in Critical Care Medicine.

A/Prof Kwek is currently Assistant Chairman, Medical Board (Clinical Development) and Senior Consultant of the Department of Anaesthesiology, Intensive Care and Pain Medicine at Tan Tock Seng Hospital. He is also Clinical Associate Professor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and Senior Consultant to the Ministry of Health for the National Deceased Donor Programme. He is an Examiner for the local Master of Medicine (Anaesthesiology) Part 1 and 2 examinations and also External Lecturer and Examiner for the Neuroanaesthesia and Critical Care Program at the University of Padjadjaran, Bandung, Indonesia.
 
A/Prof Kwek’s clinical interests include neuroanaesthesia, neurocritical care, general intensive care and clinical information systems for OT and ICU. He is a passionate and recognised clinical teacher in his department and has been named as a Top-10 Teacher in the Division of Surgery at Tan Tock Seng Hospital for 3 years (2006-7, 2007-8, 2008-9) and awarded Best Teacher (Division of Surgery) in Year 2009-10.
