Dean's Awards for Research

Category 1: To recognise our junior and mid-career faculty for their excellent research performance.

Eligibility: All LKCMedicine faculty are eligible except for full professors. (Note: Full professors are encouraged to apply for university, national and global research awards). Past awardees will be excluded for a period of three years.

Evaluation of eligible faculty members will be conducted at the annual appraisal exercise by a School panel comprised of Vice-Dean (Research) together with a group of senior faculty. Performance will be judged according to the faculty’s number and quality of publications, awarded grants, intellectual property, and impact of discoveries. The average score for research out of a maximum of five will be computed and the highest scorers will be shortlisted for award. Up to 2 awards will be given out each year. Where there is a tie, the Vice-Dean (Research) in consultation with the Dean will make the final decision.

Category 2: To recognise our joint clinician-scientist faculty for their excellent research performance.

Eligibility: All faculty from Public Healthcare Clusters (e.g. NHG) who are joint appointees of LKCMedicine are eligible. Past awardees will be excluded for a period of three years.

Evaluation will be performed by a selection committee appointed by the Dean. Up to one award will be given out each year.
