Use Cases Portfolio
Leveraging on existing COSMO outdoor infrastructure, COSMO team has developed and tested 15 vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and 22 vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) use cases based on DSRC technology in the past 5 years. Some of V2I use cases are re-encoded into cellular V2N use cases after the 5G-V2X network is established. The focus of these use cases is to provide public safety services among vehicles, and between vehicle and pedestrians. Some other use cases focus more on the traffic manager and information sharing services. Enhanced from standard DSRC technology, one last but special category of use cases is to provide the seamless IP services to the vehicles. All the use cases had been demonstrated lively on the public road during Industry Showcase events or with collaboration partners. In the next step, COSMO team will concentrate on the development of 5G-V2X use cases on 3GPP release 15 and release 16 standards.
