The rapid advancement in digitisation and network technologies has created tremendous opportunities for mankind to acquire, analyse and use information from a wide range of networked sources to solve challenging problems in many applications, such as smart cities and urban solutions, security and surveillance, eCommerce and social media, and health care.
The Centre for Information Sciences and Systems is a key research centre established within the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Nanyang Technological University to advance research and innovation in key technologies, comprising Data, Image & Video Analytics, Advanced Sensing Technologies, Cyber & Network Security, Positioning & RF Technologies, and Communication & Network Systems.
It houses several key labs and research programmes to support Singapore vision of becoming a Smart Nation. These include the Smart Nation Lab, ROSE (Rapid-Rich Object Search) Lab, Connected Smart Mobility (COSMO) Lab, Schaeffler Hub for Advanced REsearch (SHARE), and other topics like 5G communications and cybersecurity.
Our faculty members, research staff and graduate students are actively collaborating with government agencies and industry partners to conduct R&D works that have the outcome of deploying technologies in the real world. Currently, 37 affiliated faculty members, 85 research staff and 91 graduate students with expertise in the areas of Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, Internet-of-Things, and Wireless Communication, are working together to study and design smart systems to improve the quality of our lives and society.
