              Day 5: Unified People-Process-Platform Approach for AI Workflow Orchestration

                Faculty and Industry Trainer

                Prof Alvin Ng

                Associate Adjunct Professor, NTU

                Alvin has over 28 years of experience in global sales and product management and has held a series of senior global leadership roles with global multinational companies.

                Alvin previously serves as the Chief Operating Officer for Aboitiz Data Innovation, a forward-thinking data science and AI start-up with a strong commitment to research and a human-centric approach. Its mission is to provide transformative data, data science and AI services and consulting.

                Prior to this, Alvin was the Regional Vice President of Digital & Sustainability Solutions for APAC at Johnson Controls, where he led initiatives that grew the digital, sustainability & AI business from US$5 million to US$50 million in 2.5 years. 
                 
                At NTU’s Nanyang Business School, Alvin teaches AI for Business, Digital Transformation, and Industrial Internet of Things (IoT). He also leads the Transformational Leadership and Business Consulting programs and serves as a senior career fellow, mentoring Global Executive MBA students. 

                Alvin holds a Bachelor of Engineering from NTU and is a Professional Certified Coach (PCC).  His contributions to the field of AI and digital transformation are well-recognized, with numerous publications and speaking engagements at industry conferences. 

                Philip Teng

                Philip is an engineer by training with over 15 years of experience at DSO National Laboratories, where he served as a Principal Member of Technical Staff. A recipient of the Defence Technology Training Award, he graduated from the National University of Singapore and later earned a Master’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University under a postgraduate scholarship. At DSO, he played a key role in overseeing technology development and project management in Unmanned and Space Systems, successfully leading satellite launches and advanced engineering initiatives.

                Beyond his work in engineering and AI, Philip is passionate about education and training. Since 2009, he has been actively involved in professional and continuing education, conducting engineering and software courses at Nanyang Technological University Academy for Professional and Continuing Education (NTU PACE). His expertise spans embedded systems, Internet of Things (IoT), real-time systems, and operating systems, where he shares hands-on industry insights with practitioners. More recently, Philip has expanded his focus to Generative AI and Industry 4.0, training companies and adult learners in leveraging AI-driven transformation for business and industry applications.  Philip is also a trainer in Knowledgecom Malaysia.
