Biography
Dr. Junzhi Liu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry at The University of Hong Kong. He obtained his Ph.D. in Synthetic Chemistry from the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research (2016) and held postdoctoral and group leader positions at TU Dresden before establishing his independent group at HKU in 2019. His research focuses on the bottom-up organic synthesis of topological molecular carbons and their applications in organic electronics. Dr. Liu has published over 90 papers in leading journals such as Science, Nature Materials, JACS, Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., and PNAS, and has received numerous awards, including the Asian Core Program Lectureship Award (2023), HKU Outstanding Young Researcher Award (2023), and NSFC Excellent Young Scientists Award (2021).
