Biography

Takeharu Haino is a Distinguished Professor at Hiroshima University and Principal Investigator at WPI-SKCM². He earned his Ph.D. from Hiroshima University in 1992 and has held academic positions there since 1993, including a research stint at The Scripps Research Institute in 1999. He also serves as an Associate Editor for the Bulletin of the Chemical Society of Japan.

His research focuses on supramolecular chemistry, particularly supramolecular polymers, self-assembly, and confined space chemistry. His group has developed self-healing materials, supramolecular catalysts, and white-light-emitting graphene nanodots.
