People Management

Managers need a repertoire of people management capabilities to remain effective in a global economy. This module provides both theoretical and practical understanding of leading teams across different cultures.

Operations

Operations account for a significant portion of value in any business. This course introduces the fundamental concepts and best practices in managing business operations to support corporate strategy and inspire business model innovation.

This module is particularly relevant if you are aiming for a consulting career or have entrepreneurial inclinations. Even for those in finance or marketing, it offers a crucial perspective on the overall workings of a business organisation.

Learning Outcomes
  • This course will use a mix of case studies, exercises, videos, games and lectures to convey the course content.
  • Students will acquire knowledge relating to consulting, entrepreneurship and other business functions (e.g. finance, marketing).

Business Ethics & Corporate Governance

Business Ethics & Corporate Governance

Stimulate your mindset to balance conflicting priorities across business, government, and non-profit environments. This module uses topical case discussions to help you develop effective governance structures that meet challenging goals.

  • Develop strategies to navigate difficult organisational decisions while considering dynamic external environments.
  • Learn to design and strengthen governance frameworks that align with complex stakeholder needs.

Cultural Intelligence & Business Negotiation

Cultural Intelligence & Business Negotiation

Develop Cultural Intelligence (CQ) to function effectively across diverse cultural contexts, specifically globally and in Asia. Using a structured three-step process (self-awareness, cultural mapping, and style switching) this module helps you master bilateral and multilateral negotiation strategies. Through immersive role-playing and simulations, you will move beyond simple deal-making to handle conflict resolution and build sustainable relationships, ensuring negotiating counterparts are eager to do business with you again.

Learning Outcomes

  • Understand the different spheres of culture (national, regional, industry, company) and how they impact business.
  • Discern the dimensions of national culture and the underlying assumptions of your own cultural perspective.
  • Master the Cultural Intelligence framework (Self-Awareness, Cultural Mapping, and Style Switching) and its implications for executives in global industries.

Important Notes

  • If an intake is fully enrolled, your application will be considered for the next available intake.
  • Updates to your application status will be sent to you at least 6 weeks before the programme commences.
  • As seats are limited, please send in your application early to avoid disappointment.
  • The last module will be held at NTU Nanyang Business School.

Programme Attendance

  • Successfully admitted participants have to commit to the published schedule.
  • The course duration is 30 weeks, with four Saturday classes per module.
  • All classes are held in person only, from 8.30am to 5.30pm at the Lifelong Learning Institute (near Paya Lebar MRT).
  • No make-up classes for absentees.
  • Mandatory attendance is required for the programme info session; details will be provided upon successful admission to the programme.
  • Nanyang Technological University reserves the right to change the date, time, venue, and mode of delivery of classes due to unforeseen circumstances or prevailing government advisories.

Course fee revisions are made to align to corresponding Master’s programme fees.

Funding/Programme Requirements

- You must achieve a minimum of 75% attendance for each module.
- You must complete and pass all assessment components.

You do not need to contact SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) to apply for the above funding. Upon your successful admission to the programme, NTU will handle the funding administrative for all applicants. Billing is by module on the nett amount after funding and GST. Full payment is to be made before the start of module.

SSG funding is limited in duration and subject to the prevailing conditions of the funding agencies.

SkillsFuture Credit
Singapore Citizens, aged 25 and above, and self-sponsored, may use their SkillsFuture Credit to defray full or part of the nett course fee.

Singapore Citizens, aged 40 and above, and self-sponsored, may use their NEW Top-up of $4,000 SkillsFuture Credit (Mid-Career) to defray full or part of the nett course fee.
