Congratulations to ADM Alumni Yeow Su Xian and Jovan Chan for their achievement at South East Asia’s animation festival Cartoons Underground 2021 Golden Durian Awards!

Congrats to ADM alumni Yeow Su Xian and Javon Chan on clinching the Best Singapore Student Animation and Special Mention awards respectively at South East Asia’s animation festival Cartoons Underground 2021 Golden Durian Awards.

Su Xian's animated short film, Full Circle, presents the Moon and the Earth's relationship through a sleepless, semi-conscious night, blending 2D and 3D aesthetics using a silk-screen medium. The jury said it is "a mesmerising film that combines poetry, documentary, philosophy into a beautiful, maturely written piece that deserves multiple viewings".

Javon's animation A Fish for A Friend tells a story of a cave boy’s sympathy for a bear cub that can’t catch its own fish and the adventure that ensues from helping the cub. It earned the jury's nod for the "well-executed and outstanding animation and production design that captured hearts through its clear storytelling and adorable characters".
