ADM Assistant Professor Ong Kian Peng Featured in The Spirit of Maritime Crossing 2026
Assistant Professor Ong Kian Peng is one of the twenty artists who created their own interpretations of maritime crossing in performance, film, music, ceramics, installation, painting and sculpture at The Spirit of Maritime Crossing 2026.
The exhibition explores strangeness, melancholy and solace in relation to identity, diaspora, displacements and human migration.
His work presents disruptive AI scenes of calamity as Singapore is slowly engulfed under maritime currents.
Organised by Bangkok Art Biennale Foundation, the Spirits of Maritime Crossing 2026 is a collateral event of the 61st International Art Exhibition at the Venice Biennale and is running from 9 May 2026 to 2 August 2026 at Palazzo Rocca Contarini Corfu, Venice, Italy.
