Assoc Prof Andy Ho is the first Asian elected President of ADEC

Congratulations to psychology professor Associate Professor Andy Ho on being the elected President of the Association for Death Education and Counseling (ADEC)

Associate Professor Ho will be the first academic of Asian ethnicity in ADEC’s 45-year history to assume its highest leadership role. He is currently the elected Vice President of ADEC (2021-2022) and will assume the presidency in April 2022. This honour proves the impact and recognition of Assoc Prof Ho’s work in psychosocial gerontology, palliative and bereavement care.

He has also been recently awarded a research grant from the Palliative Care Centre for Excellence in Research and Education and received an award at the Singapore Health and Biomedical Conference (SBHC) 2021 Scientific Competition

“It’s my greatest honour to serve as the elected Vice President and President Elect of an Association with such rich history and success in nurturing and inspiring current and future generations of Thanatologists to empower those facing death, loss and bereavement. I look forward to scaling new heights and exploring new horizons with ADEC in the coming two years.”
