Verena Regina Tirtajasa

Verena Regina Tirtajasa graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, specialising in Design. In 2023, she completed an internship at Halliburton as a Research & Development Mechanical Engineer, where she validated new safety valve designs against company requirements. For her final year project, Verena worked with Professor Paulo Bartolo, Executive Director of the Singapore Centre for 3D Printing (SC3DP), on cornea 3D bioprinting in collaboration with the Singapore Eye Research Institute (SERI).

 

In August 2025, Verena began her PhD at SC3DP, applying her multidisciplinary engineering background to 3D bioprinting for corneal regeneration and vision restoration. The following December, she presented the results of her final year project to an international audience at the Singapore Scientific Conference 2025.
