Chinese Medicine has a long-standing history and is widely recognised as a cornerstone of healthcare options in Singapore. In recent years, there has been a growing demand for Chinese Medicine as a holistic and personalised approach to health and wellness. This increasing acceptance reflects its effectiveness in addressing diverse health needs, blending traditions with modern expectations for individualised, integrative care.

The Master of Science in Chinese Medicine, offered by the School of Biological Sciences (SBS), is designed to develop highly skilled postgraduates with advanced expertise in both the theoretical foundations and practical applications of Chinese Medicine, tailored to the evolving needs of modern healthcare in Singapore and the world. This programme will equip graduates with in-depth knowledge, clinical proficiency, and research competencies, enabling them to excel in Chinese Medicine and integrative healthcare.

As the first postgraduate Chinese Medicine degree programme conferred by a local educational institution, the Master of Science in Chinese Medicine is a flagship programme that advances postgraduate education, clinical practice and research in the field.

Graduates of the Master of Science in Chinese Medicine programme will:

  • Demonstrate advanced clinical skills in the assessment and management of a broader range of complex conditions, supporting holistic and patient-centred care.
  • Collaborate effectively with modern healthcare professionals and contribute to the development of integrative healthcare models in Singapore.
  • Develop a research-driven mindset and contribute to the scientific study of Chinese Medicine through evidence-based research and innovation in clinical practice and treatment approaches.
