Genomics data is generated through high throughput sequencing of the genome, transcriptome, or epigenome. Due to its relevance to research and medicine, genomics data is one of the fastest growing data types. Computational Genomics describes the study of genomics data with statistics, algorithms, and machine learning

Upon completion of this course, the learner should be able to:

  • Understand state-of-the-art problems in computational genomics and how they are tackled with the help of AI.

    In this course, we will introduce genomics and how genomic data is used in research, and in industries, we will introduce concepts of high dimensional data analysis machine learning, and deep learning. The students will learn about state-of-the-art algorithms and how they are applied to solving relevant questions with genomics data. It mainly covers:

    1. Introduction to Python
    2. Intro to the biology of Epigenetics
    3. Machine Learning in Epigenetics with a focus on regulatory genomics

    No pre-requisites are needed to enrol in the individual courses. 

    Participants need to take note that those without qualifications or prior working experience in relevant engineering or the related fields, may find the course contents challenging.
