As part of the School of Materials Science and Engineering’s (MSE) 35th Anniversary celebrations, MSE will host a distinguished summit on 14 December 2026 at NTU, bringing together leading researchers, innovators and thought leaders to explore the future of materials science and engineering.

Themed "Next 35 Years of Materials Science and Engineering", the summit will feature a series of short presentations and interactive dialogues exploring emerging scientific opportunities, transformative technologies and the evolving role of materials science in addressing global challenges.

The summit will:

  • Reflect on the evolution and impact of materials science over the past 35 years
  • Explore emerging scientific opportunities and transformative technologies
  • Examine how materials science and engineering can address future global challenges
  • Foster new collaborations and strategic partnerships

We are honoured to welcome Prof Susumu Kitagawa, 2025 Nobel Prize Laureate in Chemistry, as one of our distinguished speakers. His participation will add a unique perspective to the summit’s exploration of the frontiers and future directions of materials science.

Renowned experts from Stanford University , UC Berkeley, University of Cambridge, ETH Zürich, Columbia University and other leading institutions will be providing their insights into the future of materials science and engineering.

We warmly invite you to join this special event!
