Sniffing out effectiveness of masks

As masks start to be a widely needed and used commodity in this era of Covid-19, MAE Assoc Prof Wan Man Pun analyzes the effectiveness of different masks in 3 main categories: Bacterial Filtration Efficiency, Particulate Filtration Efficiency, and Breathability.

“For the mask that we usually wear, they are not meant to prevent the inhalation of virus. The purpose of this normal or surgical mask is to prevent droplets from spreading outwards. What is meant to prevent the inhalation of viruses is the N95” –  Assoc Prof Wan Man Pun.
