MAE student - Lim Tze Shan, Skyler wins in EY 2021 Better Working World Data Challenge Local Challenge
Congratulations to Lim Tze Shan, Skyler from School of MAE for winning second place in the EY 2021 Better Working World Data Challenge Local Challenge.
The solution presented by Skyler was simple yet effective, and achieved a high accuracy score, thus enabling him to beat more than 8700 participants to clinch a spot as one of the top 12 Global Finalist internationally.
The Data Challenge was held from March to June 2021, and participants were tasked to develop an automated fire-edge detection and prediction model to help firefighters make more timely and informed decisions, ultimately helping to save lives, property and biodiversity from the effects of wildfires.
