MAE Prof plans to achieve net-zero carbon emission

Singapore takes another step towards its plan to achieve net-zero carbon emission by or around mid-century as MAE Assoc Prof Alessandro Romagnoli leads the study in harnessing geothermal at Sembawang Hot Spring Park. Data on temperature and concentration of heat-producing elements in granite has been collected.

“We use the data to generate our in-house geological model and near-surface temperature distribution map, which aid us in identifying the sites for our deep exploratory drillings.” – MAE Assoc Prof Alessandro Romagnoli
