Programme and Scholarship Benefits
Students in the CN Yang Scholars Programme (CNYSP) receive the following forms of support:
CN Yang Scholars Programme Scholarship
Most of the scholars in the CNYSP are supported by this scholarship, which is awarded by NTU to students who are passionate about exploring the frontiers of science, technology, and mathematics. Scholarship holders enjoy the following benefits:
- Full coverage of subsidised tuition fees (after Tuition Grant).
- Living allowance of S$6,500 per academic year.
- Accommodation allowance of up to S$2,000 per academic year (for those residing in NTU student housing).
- Travel grant of up to S$8,000 for an overseas programme (subject to terms and conditions).
- One-time computer allowance of S$2,000.
No bond is attached to this scholarship. However, note that Singapore PRs and international students receiving subsidised tuition fees under the MOE Tuition Grant scheme are liable for a three-year bond.
Programme Benefits
All students in the CN Yang Scholars Programme — including those supported by other scholarships, or without scholarships — enjoy the following benefits:
- Guaranteed overseas final year research project (5 to 8 months) with overseas travel allowance.
- Guaranteed overseas learning trip (10 days) with expenses subsidised.
- Priority in local or overseas exchange applications (one-time).
- Guaranteed four years of stay in NTU student housing. (Online hall application is required.)
- Opportunities for research attachment from year 1 onwards.
- Opportunities to attend an international conference with expenses subsidised.
In addition, members of the CN Yang Scholars Programme are regularly invited to meet-ups with prominent researchers who are visiting NTU. CN Yang Scholars are also given consideration in applications for PhD studies at NTU.
Other Scholarships
Students who have received or are applying for the following scholarships may also apply to join the CN Yang Scholars Programme:
- ASEAN Undergraduate Scholarship (for international students from ASEAN countries).
- NTU Science and Technology Undergraduate Scholarship (for international students from Asian countries).
- Nanyang Global Scholarship.
- External scholarships (subject to approval).
