Overseas Programmes
The CN Yang Scholars Programme (CNYSP) provides many opportunities for scholars to experience how science and engineering research is performed around the world. Through these opportunities, CN Yang Scholars are able to expand their horizons beyond Singapore, and start building a network of academic contacts around the world.
Overseas Learning Trip
10 days | Year 1 Special Term
At the end of Year 1, CN Yang Scholars attend a 10-day Overseas Learning Trip with their peers. Organised with the help of the CN Yang Scholars Club and subsidised by the CNYSP, this trip aims to help scholars learn and understand how science and engineering research is conducted in other countries.
Previous destingations for CNYSP Overseas Learning Trips have included CERN (the European Organization for Nuclear Research), Tsinghua and Peking Universities, the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), and more.
Overseas Final Year Project
8 months (for Science majors) or 5 months (for Engineering majors) | Year 3 or 4
In their final year, CN Yang Scholars can choose to do a Final Year Project at a leading overseas university of their choice, with financial support from the programme. This Overseas Final Year Project provides a unique opportunity to experience first-hand how research is performed in a global setting.
Other Overseas Experiences
CN Yang Scholars also have other opportunities for overseas experiences, including:
- Priority for undergraduate exchange programmes.
- Opportunities to attend international research conferences (with partial financial support from the CNYSP).
