1. What is the NTU Honours College?

The NTU Honours College is a flagship undergraduate college that brings together students from NTU’s signature programmes and other high-achieving students to engage in interdisciplinary learning and tackle real-world challenges. The College’s mission is grounded in service to society. Students are expected to give back through initiatives like Tech-For-Good and other projects. The emphasis is on responsibility and preparing students to lead with purpose and use their talents for the greater good.

2. Who is eligible to join the Honours College?

Students enrolled in NTU’s signature programmes, such as the CN Yang Scholars Programme, NBS Global Leaders Programme, Renaissance Engineering Programme, Turing AI Scholars Programme, and University Scholars Programme, as well as NTU President Award recipients, LKCMedicine Scholars, and Nanyang Global Scholars, are automatically part of the Honours College.

Additionally, the college will accept applications from all students from AY2026 onwards.

Finally, freshmen from any programme who demonstrate strong academic performance and a passion for service may apply to join in their second year.

3. What are the benefits of joining the Honours College?

Members gain access to:

  • Challenge-based modules fostering innovation and leadership.
  • Mentorship from top academics and industry leaders.
  • Opportunities to develop tech-driven solutions for societal needs.
  • Platforms to present work on international stages.
  • An NTU Honours College Certificate upon graduation.

4. How can I apply to the Honours College?

The Honours College is not limited to students in the premier scholars programme. All NTU students are welcome to apply at the end of their first year, regardless of their programme.

For AY2025, all suitably qualified incoming students will be invited to apply through a holistic review. Students who are not shortlisted for the AY2025 cohort may still apply at the end of Year 1.

For AY2026 onwards, the option to apply to the Honours College will be part of the admissions process.

5. Does joining the Honours College affect my degree programme?

No, students continue their primary degree programmes while participating in Honours College activities and modules.

6. What would my home college be? If I were to study business and I am also a scholar, would I still be part of NBS? Would this mean I no longer have access to NBS resources?

Your home college remains the same (e.g., NBS for Global Leaders programme (NGL) students). Being part of the Honours College does not affect access to your school’s resources, professors, or student organisations. You are effectively part of both your home school and college, as well as the Honours College.

7. What recognition will I receive?

Upon graduation, you will receive an NTU Honours College Certificate in addition to your degree certificate if you have completed the core (Tech-For-Good Service-Learning Course) and at least three elective components, with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) ≥ 4.0.
