NTU School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology
The National Research Foundation (NRF) has awarded Prof Warren Chan the prestigious 11th NRF Investigatorship, which aims to support exceptional Principal Investigators to pursue high-risk, high-reward research with the potential to drive transformative, real-world breakthroughs.
The Dean of Engineering joins the Class of 2026 and continues to work on developing applications for nanotechnologies. His project for the NRF Investigatorship will focus on identifying molecules that affect the transport of drug-carrying nanoparticles in the blood. These molecules on the nanoparticle will stick to the cell lining in blood vessels, which will influence how they distribute. As a result, this fundamental knowledge will allow us to improve the engineering of nanoparticles to deliver treatment to diseased tissues.
