NBS to become the first NTU school to welcome Project 89 scholars through NTU’s partnership with Vietnam’s Ministry of Education and Training

Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU Singapore), has become the first university in Singapore to partner with Vietnam’s Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) under Project 89, a national initiative to strengthen the country’s higher education and research ecosystem through doctoral training. Project 89 is a government scholarship scheme aimed at developing high-quality academic talent.

Professor Christian Wolfrum, NTU Deputy President and Provost, signed the arrangement with Associate Professor Nguyen Thu Thuy, Director General of MOET’s International Cooperation Department.

Nanyang Business School will be the first NTU school to take in Project 89 scholars. As the first school within NTU to welcome these scholars, NBS looks forward to supporting their academic journeys and contributing to the growth of future faculty and researchers in the region.

The partnership also strengthens academic ties between Singapore and Vietnam while expanding opportunities for postgraduate research collaboration and talent development in the region. The collaboration reflects NTU’s continued efforts to support regional education development and strengthen international academic partnerships across Southeast Asia.
