Minor in International Trading

International Trading is offered as a minor programme by the Centre of Excellence International Trading (CEIT) to all students in Nanyang Technological University (NTU)

Interested students from other colleges in NBS and NTU may also apply via email to [email protected]. Applications will be reviewed and assessed based on academic performance and a suitable CGPA cut-off.

The Minor in international trading programme aims to nurture a specialised, global-ready workforce equipped with business acumen and technical knowledge for the commodity trading sector. Upon graduation, you can look forward to a wide spectrum of exciting, rewarding career opportunities in the lucrative commodity trading sector and value chain.

To fulfil the requirements for the Minor in international trading, you will need to complete six/seven core courses, and earn 16 academic units:

  • Trade Incoterms & Ship Chartering 
  • Commodity Markets
  • International Tax and Trading Law 
  • Trade, Structured & Supply Chain Finance 
  • Enterprise Risk Management in Commodity Markets 
  • Commodities Trading 
  • Strategic Management in Commodity Market

Note: The same course cannot be counted towards satisfying requirements of two programmes, such as a major and a minor, or two minors. The courses are updated from time to time to reflect the needs of the industry, in particular the latest industry trends and skill requirements in Singapore.

With a Minor in international trading, you will be able to choose from a broad, diverse range of roles in the commodities sector, such as:

Important Notes

The award of minor will be reflected in a graduate’s transcript but not his degree certificate. No additional certificate will be issued.
